Teaching and Lecturing
In addition to composing, conducting and orchestration, Bruce Babcock has shared his wide knowledge of these crafts with aspiring young musicians.
He has assisted his own mentor, the author of “Scoring for Films,” Earle Hagen, in conducting the renowned Earle Hagen BMI Workshop for Film Scoring, and also did editorial work on the author's second classic, “Advanced Techniques for Film Scoring.”
Before composing music for television and film Bruce Babcock was a member of the music faculties of Santa Barbara City College, Ventura College and Moorpark College.
He has also been a guest lecturer on film scoring at California State
University, Fullerton, California State University, Northridge,
Columbia College in Chicago and Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.
